Test Engineer (Portland)

Creative QA/Test Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Design and develop test cases for complex web applications
  • Testing the data layer with SQL queries.
  • Creative manual testing of web applications.
  • Provide thorough documentation of testing results.
  • Design and develop test scripts

TECHNICIAL EXPERIENCE

  • Strong software testing/QA knowledge
  • Strong test background with experience working in a fast paced, high energy work environment.
  • Able to write SQL queries and joins
  • Passionate about QA with a good grasp of testing methodologies.
  • Able to design creative solutions to difficult problems.
  • Strong and well-developed understanding of computing and internet technologies (use of APIs, protocols, etc).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • BS in Computer Science (preferred)
  • 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience with SQL
  • Knowledge of web application development
  • Knowledge of agile development .
  • Knowledge of defect tracking tools
  • Knowledge of web services and architecture

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking.
  • Must display time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain focused on a project.
